Stream: "Replicate" - Disappears

Now featuring (ex?) Sonic Youth drummer Steve Shelley on drums, the four gentlemen in this band generate sounds that haunt and energize simultaneously. This Pre Language LP is the follow up to their awesome 2011 effort, Guider that I totally gushed over, and this lead off track right here brings it. Imagine Martin Sheen coming out of the water slowly in Apocalypse Now. Plus, they're from Chicago so you know that these cats can cook.

Disappears is playing Lincoln Hall on April 13. Buy some tix, they're only $12.

The Doors Are Open

Iggy says hi
Welcome to Ripped Sounds. We're here! We made it! We're finally available for public consumption. So the music that will be provided here will have a fun punch fresh from the underground with spectacular visuals to accompany. As we're located from Chicago, our effort will be to nurture and dive within the DIY/garage punk scene of the city.

We begin this journey with a mission to cut through the stale layers of our lives that distract us from feeling the blood pumping in our chests and to celebrate being alive. It's not really as ambitious a goal as it might sound: music does that. Loud music does it best.
